Her mother said that this almost endedin tragedy as the Russian army was recruiting all the men in theCaucasus area for the army and the Quast family had to run out duringthe night and take a very old rusty boat to America where they landed inGalveston Tx in 1905. They then went to Oklahoma to meet the Wonnenbergfamily and found out that Dorothea's father had passed away.
