    Lydia Jerke married Sandau wrote
    "One of Elizabeth's brothers had immigrated to America before Elizabethand John but had passed away shrortly before they arrived." [see Jerke1,page 11] We know that the John Jerkes immigrated to Granada CO in Dec1907 and that Gottlieb died in March 1907 in Granada CO. We also knowthat Nathalia (Dolly) Koenig, daughter of Gottlieb, had several picturesof the Jerke family which have notes on the back saying either 'uncleJohn and aunt Elizabeth' or 'Dolly's aunt and uncle'. We therfore areassuming that Elizabeth's parents listed on her funeral home record arealso the parents of Gottlieb.

    About 1905 he developed breathing problems and the doctor in OK said thathe had to go to a drier climate so they moved to Granada CO, likelybecause Jusinta's brother Daniel W. was working on a sugar beet farm inthe area. We know now that he died of TB and that both his father inlaw, Ludwig W. Sr. and his wife Justina also died of TB.

The siblings went to Hanna, Albertato homestead and Justina stayed in Calgary cleaning houses, washed &ironed cloths and baby sitting children while her own children went toschool. Grandma Wonnenberg stayed with Justina and her family.

    and his family emigrated from 'Nemezko Chaginsk' which is Russian forKronental North Caucasus. It indicates that the family had $450 and thattheir destination was El Reno, OK (Near Oklahoma City) and they weresponsered by John Stadler.

    Ludwig took out a homestead at NE27-26n-15w, which is immediately westand adjacent to the town of Avard, northern Oklahoma. After his death inOct 1904, Wilhelmina made final application and received ownership ofthis quarter section of land as shown on the Patent Record dated 25 Aug1905. In 1908, Wilhelmina sold one acre to the local school district#140 and the remainder of the quarter section to Fred Link. Wilhelmina'sgrave stone reads "Wilhelmina Wonenberg Link" therefore we assume thatshe married this Fred Link as some point.
